Scholarly Award Winners

The Association of Canadian Theatre Research/Association de la recherche
théâtrale au Canada is pleased to announce the winners of this year's
Scholarly Awards.

The winner of the Richard Plant Award for Essay in English is Denis
Salter's article "Hector Willoughby Charlesworth and the Nationalization of
Cultural Authority, 1890-1945," included in _Establishing Our Boundaries:
English-Canadian Theatre Criticism_, Anton Wagner, ed. Toronto: University
of Toronto Press, 1999.

The winner of the Jean-Cléo Godin Award for Essay in French is
Marie-Christine Lesage's article "Installations sceniques. Le cas du
Theatre Ubu et du collectif Recto Verso," published in _L'Annuaire
theatrale_ 26, (30-45).

The membership of ACTR/ARTC congratulates both authors on their excellent work.
