Dear Colleagues,
Those of you who are interested in voice work may well be interested in
Giving Voice 2002.
Wales' International Festival of the Voice brings together some of the world
's finest performers and voice teachers in a unique celebration of the voice
in performance.
Giving Voice is a ten-day exploration of 'The Voice Politic' - politics,
voice and society, stirring up debate and discussion alongside an inspiring
mix of poetry, story-telling, rap, folk, world and traditional music and
theatre. The festival will also include the first gathering for community
choirs in Wales, a special evening featuring politicians from across the
political spectrum 'live on stage' in association with BBC Wales Cymru, and
workshops for children and young people.
Giving Voice this year is taking place in both Aberystwyth and Cardiff -
based at Aberystwyth Arts Centre (1-7 April) and Welsh College of Music and
Drama, Cardiff (8 -11 April).
Join us for an uplifting compendium of voice workshops, performances and
lecture-demonstrations reflecting voices from Africa, Asia, the Middle East,
