Leanore Lieblein was kind enough to post the French version of an
opening in our Department. (Merci Leanore!) So here is, with our
apologies, the good news in English too. (And there is another one to

The Department of Theatre of the University of Ottawa invites
applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor
level to commence 1 July, 2002. The Department offers a 3 year BA
Concentration in English and in French and a bilingual 4 year Honours in
Theatre, as well as a bilingual 3 year Concentration in Arts
Administration. It is anticipated that an MFA programme in Directing
will be instituted in 2003/04. Qualifications: Significant experience as
a director; a PhD, or the equivalent, in Theatre or a related
discipline; experience in University teaching at a variety of levels;
and a familiarity with current trends in World Theatre and English and
French Canadian Theatre . The selected candidate is expected to teach a
variety of courses in both theory and practice and, from time to time,
to direct departmental productions. Since the University of Ottawa is
a bilingual institution, the ability to teach in both French and English
is essential. Salary to be negotiated in accordance with the terms of
the Collective Agreement. The deadline for receipt of applications is 15
