Applications are invited for a tenure stream position at the level of
assistant professor in Theatre and Performance Studies, Department of
Humanities, University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) to begin July 1,
2010. The successful candidate will have an area of expertise in Theatre
and Performance Studies, will have wide-ranging historical, theoretical,
and critical interests including contemporary performance theory and
practice, and experience in teaching some aspect
of practical theatre.
Theatre and Performance Studies (currently Drama) is part of an
interdisciplinary Visual and Performing Arts unit that also includes art
history, visual art studio, music, and arts management. The successful
candidate will teach a range of undergraduate theatre and performance
studies courses at the UTSC campus, will collaborate with other VP A
faculty in offering interdisciplinary courses, and will teach and
supervise graduate students as a member of the Graduate Centre for
Study of Drama on the St. George campus. Candidates must have a Ph.D.
and demonstrate promise in research as well as excellence in teaching.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
