A Taste of Empire

Hi all,

Sorry for doing a "promotion," but for those of you who are going to be in the Toronto area, I would encourage you to check out Jovanni Sy's *A Taste of Empire*, a world premiere from Cahoots Theatre Projects.

The site-specific show is being performed at the Market Kitchen at the St Lawrence Market on Front St. Jovanni cooks a meal, and takes the audience through the colonial history and contemporary conditions of the recipe and ingredients. It's gourmet political satire, and finally very powerful--and the audience is served the food at the end.

The show opens Tuesday, July 6th at 8:00 and runs to the 24th (no performance July 17th). It's written and performed by Jovanni Sy, directed by Guillermo Verdecchia, and dramaturged by Ric Knowles. Check out the Cahoots website, www.cahoots.ca, or buy tickets at www.totix.ca.
