Join us for the founding meeting of Academic Women for Justice:

TUESDAY, JUNE 1st, 2010 AT 2 P.M.

SIMONE DE BEAUVOIR INSTITUTE, CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY

2170 BISHOP STREET, MONTREAL.

It's time to break the climate of silence, fear, and intimidation on our
campuses and speak out for our rights as women students and teachers. Old
mentalities die hard, and the laws and regulations that should be
protecting our rights to equality are too often only window-dressing. It's
time to make our voices heard. It's time for action.

Safety, university accountability for a harassment-free learning and
working environment, support for gender-equal career paths, and
recognition of alternative research models, these are just some of the
issues that Academic Women for Justice will seek to redress. See attached
document for more details.

Let's make our first meeting already a statement to the media!

Il est temps de briser le silence et d'en finir avec la peur et
l'intimidation qui règnent sur nos campus universitaires et de parler haut
et fort pour faire respecter nos droits comme femmes étudiantes et
enseignantes. Les vieilles mentalités ont la vie dure et les lois et les
règlements qui devraient protéger nos droits comme femmes ne sont devenus
trop souvent que coquilles vides. Il est temps de nous faire entendre.

Le droit à la sécurité, le respect par les administrations universitaires
de notre droit à un milieu d'apprentissage et de travail sans harcèlement,
un soutien pour des plans de carrière sans discrimination, et la
reconnaissance de modèles alternatifs de recherche, voilà quelques-uns des
enjeux que Femmes universitaires pour la justice cherchera à faire
avancer. Pour plus de détails, voir document en annexe.

Faisons déjà de cette première rencontre un événement médiatique!
