Dear colleagues,
I wish to draw your attention to a new senior appointment in Drama at Queen Mary, University of London. Drama at Queen Mary is internationally recognised as a leading centre for performance research and teaching. We are located in one of the United Kingdom's best research-intensive universities, in one of the world's greatest cultural cities.
Queen Mary's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is embarking on the latest phase of strategic investment to recruit excellent researchers and teachers who can contribute to the achievement of its ambitious and exciting plans.
Drama seeks to appoint a Professor of international standing with an outstanding track record in research, teaching and academic leadership. We seek someone who will play a prominent role in our research and teaching programmes through innovative critical and pedagogical practice, both individually and through collaboration with others. We invite applications from excellent candidates in any area of drama, theatre and performance studies, but we especially welcome applications from those who will extend the historical reach of our scholarship, expand the cultural breadth of our work, and/or offer original perspectives on socially engaged performance research.
The post is full time and permanent, starting from 1 September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be negotiable. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
