Hello,

Continuing from the joint panel I helped curate between CAFS and CATR last year, I have been asked to help curate this sub-conference on the arts and humanities in food studies at next year’s CAFS conference in Ottawa. Last year we received many wonderful proposals but were limited to presenting a small number. This year, however, there is room for many more and I encourage all those who work on areas of food and performance to submit to this CFP.

This year the Canadian Association for Food Studies will be hosting a special symposium during our 2015 conference. The "What IF?" Symposium asks us to move beyond the question "What IS food studies" to consider the question "What IF food studies" with the purposes of imagining multiple futures for food scholarship, transcending current frameworks, and targeting objectives for the field of food studies that moves beyond the probable and possible and into the innovative, lofty and outlandish.  

We encourage submissions to the symposium stream in all formats and especially those that are informed by an interdisciplinary or inter-epistemological perspective. Please visit our web-submission page for more information and to submit a proposal.
