Theatre – 3 year Limited Term Appointment

THE CONTEXT
The University of Ottawa is located in the heart of the National Capital, home to a wealth of artistic institutions. At the undergraduate level, the Department offers the Honours Specialist BA in Theatre, the BA with Major in one of five profiles, and the BA with Minor in Theatre.  Each of these programs is available in French and in English. At the graduate level, the Department offers an MFA program in Directing and an MA in Theatre Studies (Theory and Dramaturgy) with three specialization options: Research with Thesis, Research with Creative Project, and a collaborative program with Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

THE POSITION
The University of Ottawa’s Department of Theatre is presently accepting applications for a 3 year Limited Term Appointment.

Start Date: Fall, 2016

Qualifications:

-        An MFA in acting or directing or other conservatory training, significant artistic practice;

-        Experience teaching acting in English at a university, college or conservatory;

-        Additional experience teaching directing, history and/or playwriting would be considered an asset, as would the ability to understand and read French.

The selected candidate may teach up to 7 classes over 2 semesters per year and must demonstrate the capacity to function in a university context.  Salary is in accordance with the Collective Agreement. The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday, January 18th, 2016.
