Mavor Moore

for those researching mavor moore, i would use this book carefully. 
there is much that is hugely debatable. the writer did not seem deeply 
interested in checking all of his facts.

for the record, i was commissioned to review this book for CTR and i did 
so, pointing out a large number of errors and misinterpretations 
involving my own connections to mavor moore over many decades. after 
seeing my review, CTR ultimately decided not to publish any review of 
the book, including my own.

when i protested this decision to the book review editor, i was told 
that i was too close to the material to be objective.  so much for 
personal knowledge.

rather than being a basis for a reviewer's qualification it now becomes 
a reason for disqualification.
