NEW WEBSITE

Happy New Year! Theatre Research in Canada / Recherches théâtrales au Canada is delighted to announce the official launch of its new website: http://www.tricrtac.ca <http://www.tricrtac.ca/>! 

The new site was designed by Louis Duarte to match the journal’s recently redesigned print edition. The site was developed by Cameron Clark (Owner and Lead Developer at PhantomOwl Digital) with translation assistance from Sonya Malaborza and Louise Ladouceur.

Some of the site’s features:

·      Fully bilingual (switch between languages at the top right of the page)
·      Adapts to your device for easy navigation on tablets or phones
·      Features descriptions of past, current, and upcoming issues
·      Provides information for authors about the journal’s focus, how to submit an article, and what to expect in the peer review process
·      Includes an archive with the full text of all articles ever published in TRIC/RTAC, beginning with the inaugural 1980 issue (excepting the two most recent issues, which are available only to subscribers)

Access to all of the above, including nearly all the journal’s past content, is free and open to all site visitors. To subscribe to the journal and access the most recent two issues, you can either:

a) become a member of the journal’s parent organization, The Canadian Association for Theatre Research (www.catracrt.ca) <http://www.catracrt.ca)>, or

b) subscribe directly to the office following the instructions on the ‘Subscriptions’ page of the site.

Note that you can also access the electronic format of the most recent issues through many university libraries if they are institutional subscribers (if your university is not a subscriber, please encourage it to become one!).

Theatre Research in Canada / Recherches théâtrales au Canada welcomes submissions drawn from a full range of critical and historical approaches applied to the study of theatre as a multidisciplinary art, in the context of the cultures of Canada and Quebec.

For our Forum Section we will consider position papers, commentary on issues of significance to the journal’s mandate, information about new and old projects, and research notes. We will also consider the publication of fully annotated documentary evidence, normally appended to articles.

All submissions are refereed through a peer-review assessment process (please see the following Submissions Response Schedule). Full articles should normally be no longer than 7,000 words, typed double-spaced, following the internal editorial style found in the MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing–3rd Edition (New York: Modern
Language Association, 2008). Please submit articles, along with an abstract and brief biographical note, via email attachment (in Word). Please employ an absolute minimum of document formatting in all electronic submissions (beyond the indentation of quotations and the use of endnotes). Endnotes are permitted (do not use footnotes), but should also be kept to a minimum. While TRIC/RTAC verifies all notes, references, and quotations, accuracy in these areas remains the responsibility of the contributor and any errors may delay publication significantly. All published articles will be included on our electronic website.

L’équipe de Recherches théâtrales au Canada / Theatre Research in Canada est heureuse d’annoncer le lancement officiel de son nouveau site Web, au http://www.tricrtac.ca <http://www.tricrtac.ca/>. 

L’apparence du nouveau site conçu par Louis Duarte est inspirée de la mise en page adoptée récemment pour la version imprimée de la revue. Le développement du site a été confié à Cameron Clark (propriétaire et développeur Web chez PhantomOwl Digital), et la traduction du contenu a été signée par Sonya Malaborza et Louise Ladouceur.

Le nouveau site Web propose entre autres :

·      un contenu entièrement bilingue (passez d’une langue à l’autre en cliquant sur un icône situé en haut à droite);
·      la capacité de s’adapter à votre appareil pour faciliter la navigation à partir d’une tablette ou d’un téléphone portable;
·      des résumés détaillés du dernier numéro, des numéros parus et à paraître;
·      des renseignements à l’intention des auteurs sur la politique éditoriale de la revue, la marche à suivre pour proposer un article et le déroulement de l’arbitration par les pairs;
·      des archives comprenant les textes complets de tous les articles parus dans la revue depuis le premier numéro publié en 1980 (exception faite du contenu des deux plus récents numéros, réservé aux abonnés).

Tous les visiteurs du site auront accès sans frais à l’ensemble de ces ressources, de même qu’à la quasi-totalité des archives de la revue. Les personnes qui voudront accéder au contenu des deux plus récents numéros pourront s’abonner à la revue :

a) en devenant membre de l’Association canadienne de la recherche théâtrale (www.catracrt.ca) <http://www.catracrt.ca)>, ce qui inclut un abonnement à la revue RTaC/TRIC

b) en s’abonnant directement à la revue, suivant les consignes fournies dans la rubrique « Abonnement » du site Web.

À noter qu’il est possible de consulter le contenu des plus récents numéros en format numérique dans bon nombre de bibliothèques universitaires, à condition qu’elles soient abonnées à la revue (si votre université n’a pas d’abonnement institutionnel à la revue, encouragez-la à s’abonner!).

Recherches théâtrales au Canada / Theatre Research in Canada vous invite à proposer des articles inspirés de toutes les gammes d’approches critiques et historiques telles qu’elles s’appliquent à l’étude du théâtre en tant qu’art multidisciplinaire dans le contexte des cultures du Canada et du Québec. Pour notre Forum, nous prendrons en considération les exposés de principes, les observations sur des enjeux d’intérêt pour la revue, les informations sur des projets anciens et nouveaux et les notes de recherche. Nous pourrions également publier les notes bibliographiques annotées, normalement en annexe aux articles.

Tous les articles proposés sont arbitrés par des pairs (voir le processus d’évaluation par les pairs pour des détails à ce sujet). Ils comptent normalement 7 000 mots au plus et sont rédigés à double interligne suivant les règles stylistiques établies dans la troisième édition du MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing (New York : Modern Language Association, 2008). Les auteurs sont priés de remettre leur article, accompagné d’un résumé et d’une brève notice biographique, en format électronique (Word). Pour la publication en format électronique, veuillez employer un minimum de formatage (à part la mise en retrait des citations et les notes de fin de document). Les notes de fin de document peuvent être employées (et non les notes de bas de page), mais nous demandons aux auteurs d’en limiter le nombre. L’équipe de TRIC/RTAC vérifie les références et les citations, mais il incombe aux contributeurs de voir à leur exactitude. Toute erreur peut entraîner des délais de publication importants. Les articles publiés paraîtront sur notre site Web.
