[Candrama] CATR/ACRT Initiatives and Updates

Greetings Candrama,

I'm aware that not everyone on this list is a current member of 
CATR/ACRT. However, the association is pursuing a number of initiatives 
that may be of interest to a broader readership. This includes a survey 
developed by the Emerging Scholars Task Force, which I hope those who 
have been a CATR member at some point in the last 5-6 years will take 
(even if you aren't currently a member).

It's been a busy fall and so I'm writing with a number of updates on a 
range of ongoing activities. Please follow the links below to learn more 
and to find out how you can become more actively involved in CATR/ACRT 
initiatives.

*1. Membership survey.* The members of the CATR Emerging Scholar Task 
Force have prepared a survey and hope that all CATR/ACRT members will 
take some time to complete it. In so doing, you will help us learn more 
about how we can best serve our members, especially graduate students, 
postdoctoral fellows, and those pursuing non-academic or 
alternative-academic careers. Plus those who complete the survey (click

will have the opportunity to *win a $100 gift certificate courtesy of

*2. Conference hosting. *We're looking for conference hosts for our 2018 
and 2019 conferences. If you and/or your institution would like to host 
an upcoming CATR/ACRT conference, please complete the "expression of 
interest" form here <http://catracrt.ca/want2host/?ct=t>. The deadline 
is *January 15, 2017.*

*3. Fundraising campaign. *In honour of CATR/ACRT's 40th anniversary, 
we're launching a special campaign to raise funds to support the 
association's emerging scholars. Learn more about the campaign here

for the future.

*4. Membership.* Now's the time to renew your CATR/ACRT membership if 
you haven't already. Click here

current membership benefits and rates. Please note that on *January 15, 
2017 *our membership fee structure will change from a career-based model 
to an income-based model in keeping with models used by other 
associations. The new rates will be as follows:
Annual income under $35,000: $40
Annual income $35,000 to $50,000: $55
Annual Income $50,000 to $75,000: $110
Annual income $75,000 to $100,000: $130
Annual income $100,000 or above: $150
Institution/Department: $110
*5. CATR/ACRT 2017.* Please keep an eye out for the CALL FOR PAPERS and 
additional details about the conference in Toronto this *May 27-30,

L’automne est très chargé cette année et je tiens à vous tenir au

*1. Sondage auprès des membres.* Les membres du comité de réflexion de 
jeunes chercheurs de l’ACRT ont élaboré un sondage en espérant que tous 
les membres de l’association prendront le temps d’y répondre. Ce 
faisant, vous nous aiderez à cerner comment nous pourrions mieux servir 
notre communauté, mais en particulier les étudiants des cycles 
supérieurs, les chercheurs postdoctoraux et les professionnels œuvrant à 
l’extérieur du milieu universitaire. De plus, tous ceux qui répondront

*2. Accueil du colloque. *Nous cherchons des lieux d’accueil pour nos 
colloques de 2018 et de 2019. Si votre institution et vous êtes 
intéressés à tenir un de ces évènements pour l’ACRT, veuillez remplir le 
formulaire « déclaration d’intérêt » ici.

*3. Campagne de financement.* Pour souligner le 40e anniversaire de 
l’ACRT/CATR, nous lançons une campagne spéciale de financement destinée 
à récolter des fonds pour les jeunes chercheurs de l’association.

*4. Adhésion. *C’est le temps de renouveler votre adhésion à l’ACRT/CATR

tout savoir sur les avantages d’être membre et les tarifs actuels. 
Veuillez noter que *le 15 janvier 2017,* la structure de tarification de 
l’Association changera pour passer d’un modèle basé sur le profil de 
carrière à un modèle basé sur les revenus annuels, à l’instar d’autres 
associations. Voici la nouvelle échelle :
Revenus annuels de moins de 35 000 $ : 40 $
Revenus annuels de 35 000 $ à 50 000 $ : 55 $
Revenus annuels de 50 000 $ à 75 000 $ : 110 $
Revenus annuels de 75 000 $ à 100 000 $ : 130 $
Revenus annuels de 100 000 $ et plus : 150 $
Institutions et départements : 110 $
