With conference season upon us, I’m writing with a quick reminder of a
number of upcoming deadlines. Please see the links below for additional
information, including specific email addresses for your applications.
*Early Bird Registration Deadline – April 8, 2017.*
The “early bird” registration period for CATR/ACTR 2017 in Toronto has
been extended to April 8, 2017. See here for more.

*Heather McCallum Scholarship – April 15, 2017*
The McCallum Scholarship ($1000) supports projects that involve original
research in archives and collections. Interdisciplinary projects and
projects that take researchers outside of traditional theatrical
archives are welcome. Projects with a Canadian emphasis are particularly
encouraged. See here for more

*Robert G. Lawrence Scholarship – April 15, 2017*
The scholarship ($500) is non-restrictive in research area; it can be
awarded for projects that situate theatre or performance in
international or transnational contexts or for projects that focus on
Canadian theatre or performance, including pre- and post-Confederation,
Indigenous, intercultural, and diasporic theatre or performance. See

*CATR Awards – May 5, 2017***
The CATR/ACRT conference awards were established in 2010 to support
travel expenses for emerging scholars, theatre practitioners, and
independent or underemployed scholars presenting at the CATR/ACRT annual
meeting. There are four awards, valued at $500 each for: Theatre
Practice; Outstanding submission for an open or curated panel;
Outstanding submission for a seminar, roundtable, praxis session, or
other format; First-time CATR/ACTR participants. See here for more.

This prize recognizes the research of an emerging scholar who has
presented an outstanding paper in an open or curated panel session at
the Association’s yearly conference. See here for more.

*CATR Graduate Student Subsidy – May 22, 2017*
The CATR Board has set aside funds to help subsidize graduate students,
so that they can attend the annual conference this year in Toronto. See
