Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 12-month term appointment at the lecturer level with the Department of Drama. The successful candidate willteach the four upper level movement classes and a first- or second-year level acting class, and may be responsible for directing a production in the department’s mainstage season.



The Department of Drama is the oldest theatre department in the Commonwealth, has a full-time faculty of six with several additional sessional appointments, and currently offers B.A., B.F.A. and M.A. degrees in theatre. Our production season features four mainstage shows from the classical and contemporary repertory. There are over 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the College and 295 faculty, including 10 Canada Research Chairs. The College emphasizes student and faculty research, scholarly and artistic work, interdisciplinary programs, community outreach and international opportunities.

Qualifications:

Qualifications must include an M.A. or M.F.A. in Physical Theatre, Movement Pedagogy for the stage, Acting or Directing. Expertise in the area of movement for the stage (which could include Laban/Bartenieff, Body-Mind Centering®, Viewpoints, Grotowski, Mask work, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and/or other physical theatre modalities) is essential for the position. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a track record of excellence in teaching.



Salary bands for this position are as follows: Lecturer: $77,613 to $115,245.
