[Candrama] The S Word: Stanislavsky and Mindfulness

*The S Word*, in partnership with *London South Bank University* presents

*The S Word: Stanislavsky and Mindfulness*

A one-day symposium.

To be held at *London South Bank University* on *Thursday 20^th April 
2023*.

The day will include a keynote address, the presentation of papers and a 
workshop on mindfulness, seen in the context of Stanislavsky's legacy to 
contemporary performance.

We now invite proposals for paper presentations (maximum duration 20 
minutes) or panel presentations (a minimum of 3 speakers, 60 minutes 
duration). Proposal abstracts of not more than 300 words should be 
accompanied by a short biography and sent by email to Dawn Ingleson at 
dawningleson at lsbu.ac.uk, to arrive no later than 16th January 2023.

Topics could include: inclusive practice in actor training and teaching 
and learning, inviting and giving space to the authentic voice of actors 
and training actors alike, mindfulness in the pursuit of truthful acting 
and what that looks like, mental health in the industry and training 
actors and how we can make impactful art without destroying 
ourselves.Being in the moment in life, on stage and in the rehearsal 
room, and using Stanislavskian techniques and mindfulness to achieve this.

Selected material from this event will be considered for inclusion in an 
edited collection to be published in the new /Stanislavsky And.../ book 
series (Routledge/Taylor & Francis).

Full details of this event will be published in January 2023, and 
on-line booking will be available from early February.
