*/The S Word: Stanislavsky’s Last Words…/*
@ DAMU, Prague, Czech Republic – 11^th , 12^th & 13^th November 2022
Convenors – Jan Hancil (DAMU) and Paul Fryer (Stanislavsky Research Centre)
Keynote speakers: *Prof. Maria Shevtsova* and *Prof. Sharon Marie Carnicke*.
Guest workshop by *Prof. Bella Merlin*.
Guest lecture by *Prof. Rhonda Blair*.
The symposium will include a *special session devoted to Ukrainian
Theatre* and the work of Ukrainian practitioners and academics in our field.
_We now invite proposals for the following_:
·_Papers_ (20 minutes duration)
·_Workshops/Practical sessions_ (40 minutes duration)
·_Panel debates_ – a minimum of three speakers (60 minutes duration)
/The symposium will focus on the problems of the transmission of
Stanislavsky’s final research in its artistic, socio-political and
broadly historical context and follow its contemporary re-discovery and
renewal, explored through the sharing of both theoretical and practical
research./
Your submission might focus on one or more of the following areas:
Active Analysis/Method of Physical Actions, Acting and Cognitive
Science, contemporary developments and approaches to teaching, the work
of Maria Knebel (and others), continuing the Stanislavsky tradition,
Stanislavsky as a “hostage” of Stalin’s regime, documenting the system…
Please submit your proposal, including a short biography (maximum *300
words*) to Paul Fryer – paul at paulfryer.me.uk
<mailto:paul at paulfryer.me.uk>to arrive no later than *1^st September
*(successful submissions will be acknowledged no later than *10^th
September*).
Online registration for this event will open on 1^st August, and an
early-bird reduction will be available for bookings made before 19^th
September.
*The Stanislavsky Research Centre *and its associated activities wishes
to acknowledge its unequivocal support for Ukrainian arts workers,
performers, teachers and researchers and for those Russian practitioners
and academics who have bravely and openly condemned the actions of the
government of the Russian Federation in their unprovoked attack upon the
people of Ukraine
