Good afternoon from Black Theatre Workshop!

I'm writing to make sure you know that applications for BTW's 2026-27 Artist Mentorship Program are open until July 6! The Artist Mentorship Program (AMP) by Black Theatre Workshop supports emerging and mid-career artists on their journey to becoming self-sustaining professionals. AMP is our national training program for Black, Indigenous, people of colour (POC), and LGBTQIA2S+ artists, offered in both English with some French support.

The program consists of weekly remote workshops, 1:1 mentorship, project development, and a national gathering at a national arts organization (ie. NAC in Ottawa, Stratford Festival, etc.). The program offers an honorarium for all participants, as well as financial support for the project you develop during your time with us.

The program is open to artists across Canada. We encourage you to share the call for submissions with your theatre network, and please note that submissions are due July 6th at 11:59 pm. Bonjour de la part du Black Theatre Workshop!

Je vous écris pour vous informer que les inscriptions au Programme de mentorat artistique du BTW 2026-2027 sont ouvertes jusqu’au 6 juillet! Le Programme de mentorat pour artistes (AMP) du Black Theatre Workshop soutient les artistes émergents et en milieu de carrière dans leur parcours vers l’autonomie professionnelle. L’AMP est notre programme de formation national destiné aux artistes noirs, autochtones, de couleur (POC) et LGBTQIA2S+, offert en anglais avec un soutien partiel en français.

Le programme comprend des ateliers hebdomadaires à distance, du mentorat individuel, l’élaboration de projets et un rassemblement national au sein d’un organisme artistique national (ex. CNA à Ottawa, le Festival de Stratford, etc.). Le programme offre une rémunération à tous les participants, ainsi qu’un soutien financier pour le projet que vous développerez pendant votre séjour parmi nous.

Le programme est ouvert aux artistes de partout au Canada. Nous vous encourageons à partager cet appel à candidatures avec votre réseau. Veuillez noter que la date limite de dépôt des candidatures est le 6 juillet à 23 h 59.
