From kathryn.simone at uwaterloo.ca Tue Jun 9 12:44:01 2026 From: kathryn.simone at uwaterloo.ca (Kathryn Simone) Date: Tue, 9 Jun 2026 16:44:01 +0000 Subject: [CTN] Nengo Summer School Open House: This Friday 15+ live demos at the intersection of brains and AI Message-ID: See brain-inspired AI in action this Friday What can researchers build in two weeks at the intersection of neuroscience, AI, cognitive modelling, and neuromorphic computing? This Friday, drop by the Nengo Summer School Open House and Final Project Demos to find out. Participants from around the world have spent two intensive weeks here at the University of Waterloo building new models, systems, and live demos with Nengo, a toolkit developed at UW’s Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience for modelling neural systems and deploying brain-inspired applications on neuromorphic hardware. You’ll be able to explore 15+ brand-new live demos, ask questions, and speak directly with the researchers who created them. Rather than a sequence of talks, this is an informal open-house format: move between projects, follow what catches your attention, and stay for 15 minutes or the full two hours. For anyone working in or around neuroscience, philosophy of mind, cognitive science, computer science, artificial intelligence, engineering, or intelligent systems, this is a rare chance to see ideas made concrete. Event details What: Nengo Summer School Open House and Final Project Demos When: Friday, June 12, 4:00–6:00 PM Where: Sedra Design Centre, E5 First Floor Format: Informal drop-in; 15+ live demos; conversations with project creators Drop in Friday and see what the next generation of brain-inspired systems looks like. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
