I don't think committee pairs reaching out to individual Chairs precludes the whole committee meeting with the Chairs as a group, if that's what they would like.

Hi Christopher,
It was my impression that in addition to the survey we would be meeting with individual faculty members and that the DNC would be initiating these discussions.  That Andrea would pair us up and assign 12- 15 faculty members for each pair  to interview.  I, therefore, thought that we would be meeting with each of the chairs individually.

I am not sure where we are in the process with respect to this plan that we decided in the first meeting of the DNC.

Hello everyone,



I met yesterday with my counterparts (Chairs) in the other SSPHR units to discuss various matters related to the reorg (of note: I am both a member of the SSPHR ‘leadership group’ and a member of this committee) and some of us were wondering if members of the DNC might be interested in meeting with us as a group. Some members of SSPHR ‘leadership group’ have been shepherding the reorg through since the beginning and collectively there is a great deal of corporate knowledge that the DNC would likely benefit from as we move through the nomination process.

Dear DNC:



Faculty (9) and staff (3) reps on the committee:    Replying just to me, please tell me anything about your thoughts and availability for the two-on-one invited interviews that will help me to pair you with someone on the committee – someone not from your own unit.



Mark and Ellen: we’ll hope to offer that anyone who wishes to speak with externals may reach out to the two of you – we wouldn’t ask you to directly invite meetings.  We don’t typically get a lot of people using this option, but generally there are a few....



Tanraj and Jordan: I hope you will feel comfortable to consult with one another on how best to engage the UG and Grad students, and to reach out to me or any other committee member(s) for support.
