Prostate Cancer Canada Network (PCCN)

The Prostate Cancer Canada Network is a group of local, independent support groups affiliated with PCC that hold monthly meetings, provide newsletters and awareness sessions, support prostate cancer related events, share information and lead presentations for health fairs and service clubs, and regularly participate in one-on-one visits at hospitals.

Movember

Thank you to all the groups and individual members for helping to support men’s health, spread awareness and raise funds for our partner Movember.

Also, many thanks to everyone who grew a MO like Eric Huffey (Outgoing PCCNAC member, above) and Jim Dorsey (PCCN Brampton, below) who found a new way to grow a MO this year.  Special thanks to the groups who joined the PCCN Team page including the PCCN Calgary Warriors, Brampton, and Waterloo-Wellington. They raised a combined total of $6, 713.

We are proud to feature PCCN Durham who has been actively promoting prostate cancer awareness throughout the Durham region this fall.  The Durham group meets just east of Toronto, in the city of Oshawa.

Chair Cindy Hammett organized a Prostate Cancer Canada flag-raising event with two of the region’s mayors and several city councilors during awareness month. We learned through his interview with CHEX-TV that Clark Weddell, executive member, is a fantastic speaker! He also rallied members of the group to participate in distributing literature and answering questions at a local health fair and then spoke to a sold-out crowd of 300.
