This week is National Volunteer Week - a week dedicated to celebrating Canadians right across the country who generously  <http://prostatecancer.us2.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=381dca877e43c44046caa6dd1&id=4ea119d640&e=b7e2b89435> give their time and skills in their own communities each year.

>From coast to coast, Prostate Cancer Canada volunteers are creating more awareness about prostate cancer, advocating and fundraising to save more lives, providing leadership and bringing much needed support to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer. 

Every single day we celebrate all the important contributions you make to help fight prostate cancer!  And this week I’d like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all you do for the cause.

Thank you for supporting us at events this year, speaking for the cause, participating on a panel or committee, providing leadership and governance for Prostate Cancer Canada, leading a support group, providing assistance in our offices,  tweeting and posting on Facebook to spread awareness, and raising much needed funds. Truly, we cannot foster education, fund ground breaking prostate cancer research and support the families affected by the disease in Canadian communities without all our volunteers – without you.

We have just launched an ambitious plan to significantly increase our volunteer numbers by 2016. I need your help to realize our goal of 10,000 annual volunteers in the next three years. Please reach out to others in your community and encourage them to  <http://prostatecancer.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=381dca877e43c44046caa6dd1&id=971f893206&e=b7e2b89435> become volunteers for Prostate Cancer Canada. 

I also look to your input and involvement as we continue to grow our volunteer base and strengthen our volunteer programs.

It is truly a privilege to work with you to fight against prostate cancer and change the face of this disease for the 1 in 7 Canadian men who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
