Champions in Plaid: Congratulations to Borden Ladner Gervais!

We are thrilled to announce Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) as the first-ever ‪Wear Plaid for Dad National Workplace Champion. With contributions from both its professionals and its management services personnel in each of its offices across Canada, the team at BLG raised nearly $30,000 to help protect men from prostate cancer!

Harry Rosen socked it to Prostate Cancer

Sock-cess! Thanks to supporters across the country who purchased socks leading up to Father’s Day, Harry Rosen’s limited-edition designer socks benefitting Prostate Cancer Canada were a sell out, raising a total of $51,460!

100% of proceeds will be donated to help fund prostate cancer research in communities across Canada.

Partners in Plaid

A big thank you to our retail partners Golf Town and Ben Sherman who worked tirelessly to help provide national support and awareness for the Wear Plaid for Dad campaign.

Both partners enthusiastically promoted the campaign in their stores to engage customers. Additionally, employees from both companies also partook – rather stylishly – in wearing plaid with so many other Canadians on June 19th.

'Italian Heritage Night' at the Toronto FC game on June 20

Tournament For Life

The Mr. Lube Foundation is proud to offer outstanding golf experiences in 2015 to support finding a cure for prostate cancer. Since being involved with Prostate Cancer Canada the Mr. Lube Foundation has donated over $3 million to research. This year the Calgary tournament was hosted at the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course.

Ten years of support 

Peter MacDonald's story

Ten years as PCCN Halifax support group coordinator, Peter MacDonald retired at the groups final meeting of the season June 11th.  Peter was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer in 2004.

Bare All For The Barre

Join us on Saturday, September 19th at 6:00pm for Bare All For The Barre in Halifax!

Last year 15 men participated and in just 3 weeks raised a little over $7,000! The committee has set a goal this year to recruit 100 participants and raise $100,000 for PCC Atlantic!

Cruisin’ for a Cure

The 9th annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Canada car, truck and motorcycle show takes place on September 13th, 2015 from 10am - 4pm in Brampton, Ontario.

Dedicated to prostate cancer awareness this one-day only show is hosted by PCCN Brampton and draws thousands of car, truck and motorcycle owners across Southern Ontario and Western New York. Rods, customs, muscle and classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles are welcome as display vehicles.  Cost for admission per display or spectator vehicle is $10.  Net proceeds from the show will be donated to Prostate Cancer Canada.

Besides showcasing a wide variety of vehicles, Cruisin’ for a Cure offers free, confidential PSA tests for men 40 and over.  This year Dr. Andrew Loblaw of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre will be on hand providing office hours for men getting tested.  The 2015 show will be dedicated in memory of Percy Bedard prostate cancer champion and classic car enthusiast featured in our February newsletter.
