The majority of prostate cancer deaths are cause by the spread of tumour cells from the original prostate tumour to distant sites in the body, a process called metastasis. The ability to find, track and understand metastasis in cancer patients remains one of the greatest challenges in cancer treatment.

On Tuesday, May 5, at 7pm EDT, Join Dr. Alison Allan as she describes the current knowledge about metastasis and the exciting developments in blood-based biomarker tests that may help find metastatic disease earlier and provide important information for effective, personalized treatment of prostate cancer.

  <https://gallery.mailchimp.com/381dca877e43c44046caa6dd1/images/dda26f9d-15e7-4dfc-a584-749f9e740b1d.jpg> Dr. Alison Allan is a Senior Oncology Scientist and the Basic Science Co-Lead of the Metastasis Translational Cancer Research Team at the London Regional Cancer Program; and an Associate Professor of Oncology and Anatomy & Cell Biology at Western University in London, Ontario. Dr.
Allan’s research program is focussed on cellular and molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis; in particular the study of circulating tumour cells and cancer stem cells in patients and animal models. She has been the recipient of Prostate Cancer Canada research funding for her work in understanding circulating tumour cells in prostate cancer, and for the development of new blood-based biomarker tests to better track metastasis in prostate cancer patients.

What is an Expert Angle Webinar?

*You will be required to download the GoToMeeting software, this may take a few minutes.

*You can view the webinar through your PC where you can see the presentation, hear the speaker and ask questions.

*If you don’t have access to a PC you can still participate by calling into the 1-800 number and listening to the ongoing discussion.

*Only people with access to a PC during the webinar will be able to ask questions.

*Registration doesn't guarantee a seat. Only the first 100 registrants to sign into the webinar will be able to participate. So be on time!
