Subject: Invitation to a special Toronto Warriors meeting
PCCN-Toronto volunteers/partners/caregivers, (Toronto Warriors please ignore
this email. You have already received an invitation)
On Tuesday April 19th, Dr Andrew Matthew, Senior Psychologist and Co-Lead of
the GU Survivorship Program at the Princess Margaret will be the guest at a
special Toronto Warriors meeting (7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Valleyview
Retirement Residence in the boardroom).
Dr Matthew will be presenting on a range of topics related primarily to the
impact of an advanced prostate cancer diagnosis on wellbeing and
lifestyle...including mental health, sexual health, cognitive function,
fatigue, pain, facing mortality, coping with Advanced Prostate Cancer and
how it differs from survivors of localized prostate cancer.
Following his presentation Dr Matthew will be moderating in depth
discussions on issues related to his presentation...it will be essentially a
sharing of experiences and knowledge (both ways). Ideally it will be a
learning experience for Dr Matthew...an opportunity for Dr Matthew to test
and finetune, based on your feedback, his extensive repertoire of research
findings and hypotheses.
ALTHOUGH THIS IS A TORONTO WARRIORS MEETING ALL ARE INVITED; AND IN
PARTICULAR SURVIVORS (AND PARTNERS/ CAREGIVERS) WHO HAVE SHOWN INTEREST IN
OUR E-MEETINGS.
Many of the issues addressed by Dr Matthew apply also to regular survivors.
This would be an excellent opportunity for you to air and discuss your
personal concerns before a leading expert...and in a safe environment.
Please spread the word among advanced prostate cancer survivors whom you may
know.
SEATING IS LIMITED AND ADVANCED PROSTATE CANCER SURVIVORS WILL BE GIVEN
FIRST PREFERENCE.
If you plan to attend please reply to this email confirming your attendance
as soon as possible.
Winston
