Dear PCCN Group Leaders,

 

Last year we launched our first ever Plaid for Dad campaign across the
country.  It was such a huge success that we are doing it again this year.
The campaign leads up to Father’s Day.  

 

On June 17th , people across Canada will be wearing plaid to help raise
awareness and funds for prostate cancer research. Primarily companies will
register and ask their employees to participate by donating/fundraising for
PCC.  On the 17th, employees will reach into their closet to wear plaid as a
special nod to the men in their lives. The campaign is really starting to
gain awareness and you can find out more by checking out www.plaidfordad.ca
or by looking at PCC’s Facebook page or follow on the Twitter feed.

 

As we did last year we invite all support groups to join the campaign and
wear Plaid on June 17th, plus help raise funds if you are interested.

Support groups participating will be eligible to apply for 50% of the funds
raised by your group.  You know better than most that 1 in 8 Canadian men
will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their life-time – all it takes is
$8 per person to donate to this campaign.

And on June 17th, wear your Plaid proudly, take a photo and share it on
Facebook or Twitter –using the hashtag #PlaidforDad.  If you don’t have
Twitter or Facebook send me the photos with details- where you are and who
is in the photo and we will post on our social media.

Here’s a fun and easy way to help raise awareness about prostate cancer and
I invite you to join myself and Canadians all across the country in helping
to make a difference for our cause through this campaign!
