Hello Glen
My name is Denis Laderoute and I have been receiving your e-mail notices since signing on with PCCN at the presentation by Dr. Matsumoto on October 25th.
I am interested in attending the upcoming presentation by Dr. Leong this Wednesday, January 18th in Oakville and was wondering if others may be going with whom I could catch a ride.
My phone is: home 519 579 1082 and cell 519 568 3624. E-mail above.
Thanks
Denis

Please read to the end since there is other information here in addition to a reminder of our next meeting on
WEDNESDAY JAN 18th - 7:00 PM at the WELLSPRING CENTRE, 2545 SIXTH LINE in OAKVILLE
We are starting off the New Year with a guest speaker.
Dr. Darryl Leong is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at McMaster University. He is coming to talk with us on the general topic of
“why should men with prostate cancer be concerned about heart disease?”
Darryl has an especial interest in cardiovascular disease in cancer patients and is participating in studies funded by Prostate Cancer Canada on cardiovascular and lifestyle risk factors in men with prostate cancer. Should we be worried? Here is a chance to get the real story from a cardiovascular expert.
I look forward to seeing everyone there. Please feel free to bring a friend or family member.

In April last year, we had Dr Patrick Gunning speak to us about the exciting cancer research work that his team is doing at the University of Toronto, Mississauga.
Subsequent to that, Reg Kowalchuk organized a visit to Dr. Gunning’s labs for a group of our members and has stayed in touch with Dr Gunning’s work.
Reg would like to arrange another visit for anyone who is interested. You can contact Reg at regdorkow at aol.com
If you missed Dr Gunning’s presentation or need a reminder on what his work is all about, check here:

Here comes another of my regular reminders about the value of Prostate Cancer Canada’s ‘Expert Angle’ webinar series
http://www.prostatecancer.ca/Supporting-You/Hear-from-the-Experts/Tune-In
There are some really interesting topics coming up in the next month, starting next week
* Tues. Jan. 17: Leah Jamnicky, Radical Prostatectomy (Preparation, Procedure and Recovery)
* Tues. Jan. 31: Bill Landry, Physiotherapy and Prostate Cancer (Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Exercises)
* Tues. Feb. 14: Dr. Michael Cox, Basics of Prostate Cancer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, I listened in on a webinar from B.C. this week about the value of Support Groups and how to get the message out to even more people.
You can listen to all of Dr John Oliffe’s presentation here https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/recording/54869308669378562
or take a look at the new website he and his team are developing at http://ifiweretom.ubc.ca/
Best regards,
Walter
