In the interest of keeping our costs as low as possible, we're reaching out to our members to see if anyone can help us with some basic items. We're looking for:
* large freezer bags (that help keep our wigs tidy and clean)
* unscented HE laundry detergent
* dishwasher tabs

"Ray-ki" is an ancient healing technique. It is a treatment in which healing energy is channeled from the practitioner to the patient who is sitting or lying quietly to enhance energy and reduce stress, pain and fatigue. Reiki is a simple procedure, consisting of calm and concentrated touching, with the practitioner focusing on healing and giving energy to specific areas on the receiver's body.

At the Chaplin Family YMCA every Tuesday
Support among the group is offered, tips are shared and strategies for coping discussed. A wide range of on top of mind topics are discussed each week including everyday life events, past, present or future. Come discuss concerns about your future cancer treatments, eating problems and relationship issues. The group is warm and friendly and a good social circle for women with cancer.

Breast Cancer and Nutrition
The connections between one of the most common women's cancers and what you eat
In this program you will increase your knowledge related to the role of nutrition and breast cancer. Suggestions for dietary changes to help in the prevention and/or recurrence of breast cancer are covered. Other topics include the impacts of healthy eating and weight, supplements, alcohol, physical activity, phytoestrogens, organic foods, calcium and Vitamin D. Only those who have been a patient or have a family member at GRRCC can be registered at this time.

Healing Journey 1
Next offering starts April 5th
The Healing Journey is a comprehensive 2-level coping skills program that provides emotional support, coping strategies and oppportunities to network with others. Delivered by experienced professionals, the Healing Journey is a wide-ranging program that includes both small-and-large-group formats, opportunities for discussion and cancer and its impact, demonstration and practice of proving coping strategies and discussion of the spiritual dimensions of cancer.
Healing Journey One: Coping with Stress is a four week program. Commitment to attend all four sessions is required. The Healing Journey One is a good starter program for new members. Let us help you in your healing journey.

Ovarian Cancer Support Group
Support tailored to women facing ovarian cancer
Women can share their concerns about the impact of living with Ovarian Cancer. This support group is professional facilitated and offers education, information on resources, and caring support whether you are newly diagnosed or for women who are facing recurrence. The group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month.

The Social - Teen Program
Online support for teens
Our teen program supports teens (ages 14 to 18) that have been impacted by cancer whether it is their diagnosis, a friend or a family member. Chat with us and other teens dealing with cancer using Google hangout. We will require your email address when you register to be able to online chat with you.
