Hi Walter
I participated in the webinar that you notified us about and hosted by Richard Wassersug on April 10. I had several questions arising from the session and he kindly offered to have a chat by phone. We did that just now.
First, I must say that he is fountain of knowledge regarding ADT and its effects on our body functions.
Second, he mentioned that “LifeonADT” is funded but that the program (1.5h webinar plus the book “Androgen Deprivation Therapy – An Essential Guide for Prostate Cancer Patients”) is under-subscribed. He wondered if you could broadcast another notice of like the one below.
Also, I wonder if he might agree to be a guest speaker sometime in the future. It would have to be via Skype or other media method as he is in Vancouver.
Cheers Murray

For your information. This may be of great value to those on ADT (hormone therapy) or who think it may be in their future.

For those men who are about to go through androgen deprivation therapy or have recently been through it, this valuable course is being offered free. Canadians will receive a free book as described below, but anyone can register for one of the sessions.
Following is the invitation from Dr. Richard Wassersug, a noted scientist from the University of British Columbia:
I seek your help in getting the word out about the free online androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) class now up and running here in Canada. The class is offered twice a month and alternatively facilitated by Drs. Lauren Walker, PhD (from Calgary) or Richard Wassersug, PhD (from Vancouver).
The class is 1.5 hours long and is ideally for men starting on ADT and their partners. It is funded by AbbVie and Astellas. That support makes it possible to provide Canadian PCa patients, who take the class, a free copy of the 2014 book "Androgen Deprivation Therapy: An Essential Guide for Prostate Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones."
Below is a summary of the ADT Educational Program. Also attached is a flyer about the program.
The next three classes are under-subscribed. As such, I would be most grateful if you could pass this information on to other support group leaders in Canada with a request that they, in turn, pass it on ASAP to as many members of their groups as they can.
Because of the way the class is funded, priority is given to Canadian patients and we can't send free copies outside of Canada. But, if there is room, patients can take the class even if they are not Canadian.
Here's a synopsis of the program:
The Online Androgen Deprivation Therapy Educational Program
The Online ADT Educational Program is an educational program on how to manage the side effects of ADT. It is hosted by the Prostate Cancer Centre in Calgary, supported by Astellas and AbbVie, and endorsed by the Canadian Urological Association.
Who is the program for:
The class is primarily for patients (and their partners) about to start ADT, but patients who have been on ADT are also welcome, if there is room in the class.
Structure of the class:
This is a single 1.5 hour professionally facilitated online webinar. Patients in Canada, who attend the class receive a free copy of the book: "Androgen Deprivation Therapy: An Essential Guide for Prostate Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones."
When are the classes:
The next three sessions are on February 28th, March 15th and March 28th at 3 pm (Pacific time zone). There is a enrollment limit on these classes, but space is still available for the next three sessions.
How to register:
One can register for the class at www.LifeOnADT.com or by sending an email to LifeOnADT at gmail.com.

My thanks for getting the word out on these classes.
