Significant Partnership with Carizon Family and Community Services & Interfaith Counselling Centre
Press Release: Thursday, August 8, 2019 

Waterloo Region, ON: HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre is proud to announce the formation of a collaborative partnership with Carizon Family and Community Services and Interfaith Counselling Centre, effective immediately. The dedication, commitment and expertise of Carizon Family and Community Services and Interfaith Counselling Centre in providing vital counselling support to those in Waterloo Region means that members of HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre will receive customized and professional cancer care support in the comfort of the HopeSpring environment.

With the formation of this partnership, HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre is thrilled to announce the creation of the Cancer Care Counsellor role. Ms. Amy Krug MSW, RSW of Interfaith Counselling Centre has joined HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre. Ms. Krug is providing on-site counselling sessions to those affected by cancer, including members, caregivers, loved ones, family members and friends. In addition, Ms. Krug is also facilitating several HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre support groups, including the Ovarian Cancer Support Group and the Caregivers Support Group. Ms. Krug has over 15 years experience in many different sectors encompassing all age groups, with extensive clinical experience working with mental health, trauma, wellness and mindfulness. Ms. Krug has a deep passion for supporting individuals through their life journey and transitions.

Our new Cancer Care Counsellor will provide much needed early evening individual counselling on Mondays – thus allowing better flexibility for our members. In addition, the Caregivers Support Group will be moving to an early evening time slot, which better suits the needs of caregivers.
