This is an early heads-up on our plans for August 21st.

 

Thanks to our sponsor, Astellas Pharma Canada, we can confirm that Kim
Hartsburg-Lang will speak to our group on August  21st on the topic of
"Sexual Intimacy After Prostate Cancer".

 

This talk will cover the potential sexual side-effects of different prostate
cancer treatments and the various methods and mechanisms of coping with
these side-effects, including penile rehab after surgery.

 

The emotional impact of prostate cancer and ways to maintain or restore
intimacy in a relationship after PC will be a major component of the talk.

 

Please mark this date and plan to attend. This is one meeting where a man
and his spouse should attend together if at all possible.

Kim Hartsburg-Lang is a registered nurse in the Barrie Urology Group. Kim
graduated as a registered nurse in 1977 from the Victoria Hospital School of
Nursing, Fanshawe College, in London Ontario. 
Until 2013, her most recent position was as a primary nurse in Radiation
Oncology at the Peel Regional Cancer Centre, where she was an active member
of the Brachytherapy planning project as the nurse champion.

Kim has won awards for nursing excellence and has been involved in the
development of both male and female sexual health programs providing
counselling and education to these patients.
