Subject: Join us for Plaid for Dad 2019
Good morning everyone,
Prostate Cancer Canada’s annual Plaid for Dad campaign is taking place leading up to Father’s Day again this year. For the fifth year running, thousands of workplaces, groups and individuals across Canada go Plaid to help end prostate cancer.
June 14, the Friday before Father’s Day, is our day to wear Plaid for Dad. Participants share photos online using the hashtag #PlaidforDad to show their support and spread the word. As well, Canadians across the country will be raising funds to help eliminate prostate cancer.
As valued Prostate Cancer Canada partners, once again we will be offering support groups the chance to raise funds and receive 50 per cent of the funds raised for your group.
Here are five easy ways you can get involved in the campaign:
1) Engage on social media - share your plaid photos of your support group, family, friends and colleagues, and like/share/retweet/comment on those posted on Prostate Cancer Canada’s <https://www.facebook.com/prostatecancercanada/> Facebook, <https://twitter.com/ProstateCancerC/with_replies> Twitter, <https://www.instagram.com/prostatecancerc/> Instagram and <https://www.linkedin.com/company/prostate-cancer-canada/> LinkedIn pages. If you don’t use social media, send your photos to me by email with a description of the photo and we will post on Prostate Cancer Canada’s social media for you.
2) Consider doing something unique in your group to raise funds and help create awareness. Last year, some groups held barbecues or breakfasts, posting the group wearing Plaid. You can visit Prostate Cancer Canada’s <https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?EventID=282766&LangPref=en-CA&TeamID=862725> fundraising page and either donate as an individual or set up a page for your support group to donate. Hill Street Beverage Company is generously matching all donations up to $50,000.
3) If you are still working, consider getting your workplace involved and register as a Plaid for Dad fundraising workplace at <http://www.plaidfordad.ca> www.plaidfordad.ca. You can find fundraising ideas and tips there.
3) You can also <http://www.plaidfordad.ca/wall> Make a donation in honour of a loved one and post their name on our Tribute Wall, or send a Father’s Day e-card at <http://www.plaidfordad.ca/> plaidfordad.ca starting in late May. Janssen will donate $5 for each e-card sent.
5) Consider reaching out to your contacts to ask them to participate and support in the ways listed above.
Prostate Cancer Canada has invested $120 million in Canadian research during our 25 years of existence. That’s thanks to so many generous donors like many of our support groups who partner with us to save and improve more lives of those affected by prostate cancer. And we are delivering on that promise!
Thank you for your ongoing support to ensure the campaign’s success.
