YACC Big Cancer Hook-up
On Saturday evening, January 25th, 10 young adults affected by cancer attended the Young Adult Cancer Canada Hook-Up at the Inn of Waterloo, sponsored by HopeSpring. The organization is for those aged 19 to 40. 8,000 young adults a year get cancer and it can be an isolating experience. Young adults are just starting out in careers, long term relationships and creating families. They are beyond pediatric cancer and not at the stage of life of older adults with cancer.
The group ate pizza, networked and watched an hour video full of information that streamed from the Facebook page of YACC. Some HopeSpring staff attended and we learned a lot from this unique group. They are also very funny, with a dark humour. With two universities and a college in Waterloo Region, this is just the beginning  of what we hope will be a fruitful relationship between YACC and HopeSpring.

The Video to the event can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWbw2kmwmI4
