Hi all:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic & subsequent lockdown the April PCCN W-W
Prostate Cancer Support Group April meeting has been moved to Tuesday 5 May
2020.

The meeting will be held virtually via ZOOM.

Vic, our I.T. Director, has set up an account for PCCN W-W.

The details on how to join the meeting via computer are shown in an e-mail
from Vic below this note. Click on the link.

Normal access is via computer or smart phone. Alternatively access via land
line or cell phone is possible.

To fully participate via computer or smart phone you need viewing capability
(normal on your computer/smart phone screen ), audio (Listening) capability
(typically via your computer /smart phone speakers or earphones),
microphone (typically via a headset with microphone or via a microphone
built into your laptop or smart phone) as well as video capability (via
computer web cam or smart phone camera).

Alternatively, listening/speaking access via land line or cell phone(
without data capability) is through the phone numbers listed in the message
below.

Note that none of the numbers seem to 519 area code, so if your land line
or cell phone has unlimited long distance calling or is from a GTA base,
that would let you avoid long distance charges.

For future ZOOM meetings, we will try to find out how to get local (519)
dial in capability.

Vic will be the "host" of the meeting (technical guy) and I will try to move
the meeting along.

Since this will be the 1st time that PCCN W-W will hold a monthly support
group meeting via ZOOM, be prepared for some growing pains.

To make joining the meeting reasonable, try joining slightly ahead of 1900
hrs so Vic can control entry into the meeting.

When you join the meeting via the link below, you may be asked to download
the ZOOM app/software which may take a minute or so.

When in the meeting, be aware that only 1 person can speak at a time so
with your video camera on, raise your hand so you can be seen.

There is a capability to have the host mute all participants and have a
"hand raised" icon show for someone who wants to speak. This will be
explored.

Normally all the participants video image are shown in the gallery by the
web cam on your device with the speaker having their picture highlighted by
a coloured bar.

Last week PCCN W-W held its Steering Group Meeting via ZOOM and it went
quite well and we learned something about the process.

2 weeks ago, I participated in the PCCN T.O. prostate support group meeting
via ZOOM in which 29 or so people were involved rather successfully.

So, this is considered to be the method of having our monthly support group
meetings for the foreseeable future.

Thus, join the ZOOM meeting, have a beverage handy, participate, be prepared
for some glitches, and let's work our way thru the process.

Please share this info with anyone who might be a new member as we wish to
welcome them to the group.

Take care & stay well.

Glen
