Hi all:
You probably have seen this page before but I’m sending you all the link just in case some of you haven’t. There is a lot of good information for Family Physicians about PSA and screening.

The first sentence under the “Recommendations and Guidelines” is quite emphatic about the value of PSA testing. Does the fact that there is a Daffodil on the page automatically imply that CCS fully endorses this?
Take a look at the advice on this page under the last question “My doctor doesn’t believe I should get a PSA test, but I do. What can I do?

Answer: The decision to have your PSA tested is based on your needs and preferences. If you are interested in having a PSA test and your doctor recommends against testing, ensure you have all the information that will allow you to make a decision you are comfortable with. If you are still uncomfortable with your doctor’s recommendation, we suggest getting a second opinion.
Take care & stay well.
Glen
