Hello all:

MINOGUE MEDICAL,  the Canadian distributor of the Da Vince medical robot is
creating webinars for education on robotic surgery.  PCCN W-W in its
advocacy role, is providing the opportunity to join with Prostate Cancer
Support Group - Hamilton Region in collaborating with Minogue Medical in
organizing a patient information webinar about robotic assisted
prostatectomy on September 23rd at 5:30pm, hosted by Dr Munir Jamal from
Credit Valley hospital. The goal of this webinar is to provide patients with
information about cancer care options. It will explain what Robotic Assisted
Surgery is and will have details about the da Vinci robot, its use in a
prostatectomy, the benefits of robotic assisted surgery, and the differences
between open and laparoscopic surgery.  Creating these webinars is an
alternative to gathering these days, and we feel that it is important to
continue to provide education for patients and providers across Canada.

The Vice Chair of PCCN W-W, John Baxter, will be providing input wrt his
robotic assisted prostatectomy from a patient's viewpoint.
