Hello prostate cancer support group leaders, 

 

I've greatly appreciated you sharing resources with your groups about our ADT Education Program over the past several years. I am a prostate cancer and sexuality researcher at the University of Calgary (and also the co-founder of the ADT Educational Program). 

 

I am hoping that you might be willing to share a research study with your groups and novel sexual strategy to allow for intercourse despite experiencing ED. The study is approved by the Research Ethics Board in Calgary for international recruitment. Collaborators on this study include Dr. Richard Wassersug out of UBC and Dr. Erik Wibowo out of University of Otago in New Zealand.

 

The following is some text that can be included to accompany the advertisement. More details can be found in the poster itself. Please let our study assistant Carly Sears (Carly.Sears at ahs.ca <mailto:Carly.Sears at ahs.ca> ) (or myself) know if you are willing to share this via email to your groups, or if you have any questions.

 

"This study is recruiting men experiencing erectile difficulties. It has been approved by the University of Calgary Research Ethics board. The study aims to explore attitudes towards a novel sexual aid, that participants may or may not have considered using before. This can be used in addition to, or as an alternative to other erectile aids like medications and pumps. Previous experience using erectile aids is welcomed but is not required. We imagine that the novel strategy introduced in this study can be implemented in addition to, or independently of, other ED treatments."
