Hi Glen
Could I ask you to circulate this through your mailing list
So far we have a registration of about 30 people and this is surely a topic that merits better attendance
Thanks

Kerry S. Courneya, Ph.D., is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Cancer in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He received his B.A. (1987) and M.A. (1989) in Kinesiology from Western University in London, Canada, and his Ph.D. (1992) in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). He spent five years as an assistant/associate professor at the University of Calgary (1992-1997) before moving to the University of Alberta in 1997. Prof. Courneya’s research program focuses on the role of exercise after a cancer diagnosis (i.e., exercise oncology) including how exercise might help cancer patients prepare for treatments (prehabilitation), tolerate and respond to treatments, recover after treatments, and improve long-term outcomes.
Here is a video of the 2022 PCRI Moyad + Scholz Mid-Year Update, a two-day prostate cancer educational event. At the meeting, Dr. Moyad references Dr. Courneya and how fantastic his research is. The video link should take you to the exact time stamp (6:26:16), but feel free to watch the entire video, as the conference gives patients access to valuable resources and information.
Don't forget that we offer free exercise classes for prostate cancer patients. Our fitness and yoga classes are virtual and we welcome partners and caregivers as well.

Prostate cancer? You gotta' be your own advocate
AnCan AS moderator and ASPI co-founder Howard Wolinsky has written this new piece for his newsletter, The Active Surveillor: Some of the news on AS that fits.
The piece can be found here.
This piece explores the story of a man with a Gleason 6 diagnosis. However, his medical team suggested radiation therapy and not AS.
Here is the recording of the “Your Voice in the future of Active Surveillance” meeting on April 22nd. About 200 people attended the session live, featuring leading researchers like Dr. Laurence Klotz of the University of Toronto, who named AS; Drs. Chris Banga and Ola Bratt, who pioneered AS in Europe, and Drs. Peter Albertsen, and Timothy Witt, who pioneered AS in the United States.
“Optimizing Sleep, Exercise, and Nutrition in Prostate Cancer"
On May 31st, AnCan is hosting a presentation on lifestyle choices and prostate cancer at 5pm PT (8pm ET).
