Our April 19th program is in the PCSC April calendar but this is your invitation to distribute this to the members of your Support Group.

  

Well-known radiation oncologist Dr Andrew Loblaw from the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre will be our guest in April. 

Dr Loblaw will talk about advances in stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SBRT or SABR).This type of treatment allows for large doses of radiation delivered under image guidance to tumours within or located anywhere in the body with only 1-5 treatments. Sunnybrook is one of the largest SBRT delivery centres in Canada, offering SBRT for multiple cancer sites including lung, prostate, and spine.

Dr. Loblaw is a radiation oncologist, clinician scientist, and a full professor in the department of radiation oncology, and Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He has a masters in clinical epidemiology from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Royal College's Clinician Investigator Program. His clinical practice focuses on prostate cancer.
