|  As we begin a new year, I want to convey my heartfelt thanks to all of you.

Whether you are a supporter, volunteer, or patient…You matter. You make a difference. Please know that your generosity of support, monetary contributions, and time has had a profound and lasting impact on Prostate Cancer Foundation BC.

Together we have accomplished a great deal in 2022 and because of you we are starting off 2023 with renewed hope and excitement to continue to make a difference in the lives of those living with prostate cancer.

This year we are focusing on expanding our support groups to assist men who have unique challenges.  We will be launching a new and improved One On One support program to match patients with a mentor. And of course, we will continue to provide materials, webinars, virtual and in-person groups right across Canada. Our research donations are truly making an impact and that has been, and always will be, a staple of our Foundation.  Finding new therapies that improve the quality of life for those living with prostate cancer is needed always. Our newly revised Reef Knot Kits can be found across Canada, giving men who first hear those terrible words, “you have cancer,” an opportunity to learn everything they need to make an informed decision. Our websites provide answers, direction, and guidance, and our many unique events not only allow us to raise much-needed funds, but they also provide an outlet for survivors to gather and celebrate.

We will continue this year, as we have for over 25 years, to listen to you and build our plan around your needs and wishes.  We have been, and always will be, here for you in any way we can support you through your journey.

We thank you and look forward to continuing to work for you in the future. Again, all the best to you and your family for a wonderful 2023.

No experience is required and patients at any stage of their journey are welcome!

Newly diagnosed men considering their treatment options are especially encouraged to attend. Increasing pelvic floor strength before surgery may assist in mitigating potential side effects such as erectile dysfunction or incontinence. 

Patients at other stages of their prostate cancer journey can also enjoy the physical and mental benefits of stretching, flowing, and exercising with others on their prostate cancer journey.

Dr. Cohen will be speaking on theranostics for prostate cancer.

"Theranostics" is a combination of the terms "therapeutics" and "diagnostics." The term is used to describe the combination of using one radioactive drug to identify (diagnose) and a second radioactive drug to deliver therapy to treat the main tumor and any metastatic tumors.  |
