[nengo-user] Some questions on image processing using Nengo

Hello, Dear Sir
I
am working on a image recognition project. I want to do some simple processing
on my image files, such as binarizing or geting some statistics, before having
them processed by Nengo network. Since I am new to Nengo, I am not aware if
there is a existing module for simple image processing. Even simple functions like reading/writing
image files, reading the value of individual pixel would be greatly helpful. 

I am thinking of linking some image processing modules in python library or other language to Nengo. Also since Nengo can be run in Matlab, maybe this can be the answer. But will Nengo
offer the same functionality in Matlab as standing alone?  What would be the best way to do this?  Thank
you very much for your help!
