                    Announcement of Faculty Vacancy
 
DIRECTOR OF MFA PERFORMANCE PROGRAM - The Theatre Department at the
University of Tennessee seeks a Director of the MFA Acting Program
beginning in the fall of 1995.  In addition the successful candidate will
be asked to teach acting in the department's BA and MFA programs and to
direct in both the University Theatre and Clarence Brown Theatre Company
(Lort D) productions.  The appointment will be tenure track Associate
Professor.  MFA or equivalent professional experience is required.
 
The department has three theatres, a modern well-equipped plan and a
proffessional LORT company.  With an enrollment of 25,890 UTK is
Tennessee's land grant university and the major research institution in the
state.  Knoxville is located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains
and offers excellent cultural resources and personal and professional
services. UTK participats in TIAA/CREF and group life insurance,
disability, dental and medical plans.  In addition, the University offers
educational benefits to employees and their families.
