CALL FOR PAPERS
Volume with established interest from major university press seeking
additional critical essays on contemporary gay male performance.  Topics may
include (but are not limited to) gay male performance, theatre, dance, and
opera; performance in everyday life; bodybuilding, cruising, and embodying
queer male space; performance of radical alterities; virtual embodiment and
cybersex; camp, drag, and body culture.  Papers should have a strong
theoretical slant and a critical focus on the specificity/materiality of
particular performance domains.  Critical essays by women about gay/queer
male performance/performativity encouraged.  Performance studies
methodologies encouraged.  Volume will focus on the last ten years, but solid
essays about post-Stonewall performance will be considered.  Send 1-2 page
abstracts OR completed papers (20-25 pages) by 30 July 1995 to: Thomas Alan
