In an idle moment, between marking exams and reading scripts, I've
come across two sites which - if you don't have them already - are worth
adding to your bookmarks:

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/Web/books.html is the Carnegie Mellon University books
page, with the texts of over 1300 books, plus links to other major sites of
electronic publishing.

http://www.altavista.digital.com/ is a search site that has indexed 22
million web pages (11 billion words). These days it has the reputation of
being the best search engine on the net (even better than
http://www.metacrawler.com or the McKinley Group's Magellan site:
http://magellan.mckinley.com/

Not that you should give yourself a moment's rest from all that marking, but
just in case............ http://www.jumbo.com is reputed to be the biggest
shareware (free) site for education, games, etc, on the net.

Sorry to interrupt your otherwise busy day.

And the soup he took was elephant soup and the fish he took was Whale,
But they all were small to the cellar he took when he set out to sail,
And Noah he often said to his wife when he sat down to dine,
"I don't care where the water goes if it doesn't get into the wine."
