situation at Carleton

Dear Collegues,

I have forwarded a message to this list from the French Department list at
the University of Toronto.  Although it does not concern Canadian theatre
per se, I believe the 'economic experiments' occuring at Carleton touch us
all directly as a community of scholars and teachers.  The elimination of
entire departments in order to abolish tenured posts then rehire
professors as LECTURERS is frankly sickening.  We need to support these
professors and their departments.  This concerns all of us.
