I have permission from IDG Books to distribute a hilarious trick from the
new book, "Magic For Dummies(r)" by David Pogue. The trick is called "The
$100 Breath Mint" and is guaranteed to cause pandemonium the first time you
try it in front of a group of people at a restaurant or store.

Like the rest of the tricks in "Magic For Dummies," the $100 Breath Mint
requires almost no practice or advance preparation, and uses
readily-available objects. Unlike the other tricks in the book (which are
heavily illustrated), this trick is easy to understand without any graphics
-- which makes it perfect for distribution over the Internet. To get the
trick, send mailto:jhart at tenagra.com with the subject line "Send Magic,"
and I'll reply with a text file.

You might recognize David Pogue as the famous "Desktop Critic" from
MacWorld magazine and author of the best-selling books "Macs For
Dummies(r)" and "MacWorld(r) Mac(r) Secrets(r)." Pogue is also a
card-carrying member ("pick a card -- any card") of the International
Brotherhood of Magicians and has taught magic to complete novices at New
York's Learning Annex and the New School for Social Research.

If you're interested in learning more about magic, David Pogue will be
appearing (and disappearing) at the following chat venues:
