Professor Robert Wallace is the Robarts Chair for Canadian Studies,
at York University this year and there will be a "series of free,
public events" organised by him called "Theatrical Trans/Formations."

Apologies for the short notice (just got the details in the mail) but the
first event is:

Monday 28 Sep 1998: "Trans/Forming Theatre: 'Amateur Pastime' to 'Cultural
Industry'"

4:30-6:00pm  Panel: "The Business of Canadian Culture."
             Moderator: Robert Wallace, Robarts Chair for Canadian
               Studies, York University
             Burton Aduitorium.

             Keith Kelly, Former National Director of CCA (Canadian
                Conference of the Arts), Ottawa

             Pat Bradley, Executive Director, PACT (Professional
                Association of Canadian Theatres), Toronto, President, CCA


6:00-7:00pm  Reception and Cash Bar
             Alumni Fireside Lounge, Centre for Film and Theatre


7:00-8:30pm  Talk/Reading: "The Playwright as Politican"
             Wendy Lill, playwright, Member of Parliament, NDP culture
               critic, Halifax
             Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson College
