TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN DIRECTING/ACTING
UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR

The University of Windsor invites applications for a tenure-track position
in Dramatic Art in the area of Directing/Acting at the associate professor
rank, commencing July 1, 2000.

Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor is one of the oldest and best
established theatre and drama programs in the country. Our graduates have
made a mark on both the world stage and in film.  Currently Dramatic Art
offers honours degree programs in Acting, Music Theatre, Drama in Education
and Drama, and a wide ranging subscription season of plays through
University Players that serve the community.

The City of Windsor has a vital and expanding cultural community and we are
within easy driving distance to Stratford, Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago.
Boundless opportunities exist to explore and expand creative potential
within both the University setting and the community.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Directing (or a MFA and
experience equivalent to a PhD), a record of professional directing, a
breadth of professional acting and/or substantial acting training
experience, university teaching experience, and demonstrated evidence of
continuing commitment to creative and/or scholarly activity.  The
successful candidate will assume a leadership position in extending and
promoting the BFA Acting and Music Theatre programs and play a key role in
University Players, our curricularly generated production season.  Teaching
within other programs in Dramatic Art may be required from time to time.
Participation in committee work and program counselling responsibilities
will be required.
