Tarragon Theatre seeks its third artistic director since its founding in
1970.

Tarragon, located in Toronto, Ontario, is primarily a playwrights theatre,
devoted to the development and production of new Canadian plays.  With a
budget of $1.9 million, it produces a ten-month season of seven to eight
plays in its two theatres and occasionally tours.  Tarragon has an active
education/outreach program and its studios and smaller theatre are used
extensively by others in the arts community.

We are looking for an artistic director who will be:
*        a theatre practitioner with demonstrated leadership skills
*        committed to the development of Canadian playwrights and the
production of Canadian plays
*        knowledgeable about theatre both nationally and internationally
*        eager to work collaboratively with a 20-person staff
*        a skillful communicator, in person and in writing, who is willing
and able to represent the theatre to its audience and the wider public
*        prepared to share responsibility with the general manager and
jointly report to the board of directors

This is a full-time, permanent position.
