[Candrama] LTA in Playwrighting Writing at Concordia University

The English Department at Concordia invites applications for a limited-term appointment in creative writing.

Candidates should have competence to teach playwriting at both the introductory and advanced undergraduate level, as well as screenwriting. The ability to write for other performative or broadcast forms is an asset.

Candidates should have a recent publication and/or performance/broadcasting record in these fields. An MA or MFA, and experience teaching university-level Creative Writing courses are preferred.

The application should consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of reference. Successful applicants must be qualified to teach at the level indicated for the position. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is the key criterion in appraising applications. These positions are subject to budgetary approval and department needs.  Pending continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance, individuals holding limited-term appointments may be reappointed. Limited term appointments may not exceed 36 months. They are normally held at the rank of Assistant Professor, and initial contracts begin on August 1, 2019 and end on May 14, 2020. Those appointed will normally be expected to teach three courses per semester.
