[Acocoops] Co-op Connection summary - January 8, 2024

Hello all,

Looks great, a nice initial summary. Should capture this for future reference.

And I've been trying to schedule the bi-weekly meeting for the ACO but still working through some logistics. Hoping we can kick them off in PAS 2030 but not sure we have the hybrid setup tested yet.

Best to share with the ACO team the tentative start of help desk open this week, so the team is aware. I would then leverage that email to look for volunteers (FTE of course) to open up ML 110 at least those two days that align to help desk in HHH.

Glad to see the team having fun !!!

Hello Co-Ops,



Below is a summary of what was discussed during our connection meeting this morning.



  *   IST Help Desk training
     *   Majority thought training was good, but some topics not very relevant to ACO.
     *   Noted that they did not have access to Jira and Confluence
        *   Access should now be set up
  *   Newsletters
     *   Term long project
        *   Come up with any IT related topic that interests you and right an article on it.
        *   Come up with your ideas by next team connection on January 19.
        *   You will work on a first draft, then have your drafts peer reviewed. Then submit to Netzach and Jameson for final edit.
        *   Will be sent out to all of FoA (Faculty of Arts) at end of term.
  *   Help desk re-opening
     *   Will be done as a pilot using a booking system being set up by Netzach, Jason, Herbert and Jameson.
     *   Will be done through a booking system which end users can book time with you for assistance
     *   Open Tuesday’s and Thursdays starting week of January 22, 2024
     *   More details to come as we work them out
  *   Digital Signage
     *   Looking for someone who can work with Canva designing posters/slides to work on updating ACO digital signage using BrightSign
     *   Create documentation on how to create slideshows in BrightSign software



Tasks for this week:



  *   Lenovo Docks
     *   Audit Lenovo docks in CALMS for data accuracy
     *   Check to see if they work and note their physical condition
        *   If they don’t work, set aside into a pile
        *   If they do work, are they in good condition or have some wear and tear
  *   Reimaging 101
     *   Will learn how to re-image a desktop computer and put on Nexus (Active Directory)
  *   AV Support 101
     *   Will learn how to use the AV system in PAS 2464 and support it should there be a technical issue
  *   Answering Jira Tickets
     *   Starting Tuesday, you will start answering Jira tickets.
        *   If you are unsure of what to do, please ask a FTE (Full Time Employee)



Next Co-op connection is scheduled for January 19.
